College Essay Words - The Pitfalls of Using Dangerous Words

College Essay Words - The Pitfalls of Using Dangerous WordsMany people who are writing a college essay may find themselves completely confused by the many different wordings of essay topics. Many people have a hard time deciding between what should be 'must-have' terms, and what should be allowed for a fair use. One should always keep in mind that the rule of thumb for all college essays is to make them more interesting, rather than less, so that the reader will actually read the essay.Of course, there are some words that simply cannot be used in a college essay. No matter how carefully one thinks about it, some words are simply too difficult to understand for people from a non-English background. In fact, if the writer has difficulty reading or writing their own native language, it is impossible to use those kinds of words in the essay. When it comes to an essay on special interest subjects, the language is normally very simple. They include: dinosaur, black holes, amphibians, and ba nanas. The purpose of the author's essay is to describe the subject, not to prove something to a reader that they don't already know. There are a few things that should be kept in mind when writing such an essay, such as:Making sure that the rules are followed at all times is necessary. Even when the rules are followed perfectly, however, there can still be certain words that are not appropriate for any level of academic writing. At most universities, you are not allowed to use the following words: cold, death, war, earth, God, glory, world, heaven, and crown. There are other words that are often misused in college, such as: tragedy, gift, correct, at, happiness, fate, penalty, chance, peace, and miracle. Of course, those words are also not allowed for all college essays. Often, the student needs to watch for when they use these words, since they may get away with them, but then it can backfire later in life.By taking all of the above into consideration, the student will soon be able to have a much better understanding of the complexities of the college word usage. It will be easier to spot when one is on the right track. Of course, anyone can do this, as long as they take the time to read the rules in their college or university, because by not doing so, one may be setting themselves up for failure. As long as the rules are followed, and the essay is an informative piece of writing, there should be no problem. To better explain the 'rules' for the college essay, the use of various different words can be broken down into a few different categories. Those categories can include: family, unique, spirit, history, nature, love, evolution, and challenge. Each category has its own rules, and the use of all of them should be limited to two or three words, according to the person writing the essay. These types of words are only a few of the words that should be avoided in college essays. Students can look for specific words that may be put into writing, since the rules w ill vary from university to university.
